CryptCard is a complete security solution for
laptops, which comes in the form of a standard PCMCIA type II card. It
provides strong access control with dual authentication through the use
of password and physical token. It secures your data and operating
system through complete hard disk encryption. In addition, CryptCard
provides hardware accelerated network encryption for VPN connections. It
is the most secure, easy-to-use security system that operates completely
transparent to end-users.
Encrypted secure
remote access
CryptCard works with
the software VPN client named IPCrypt Client, to provide hardware
accelerated network encryption through a VPN gateway named IPCryptor. It
is the ideal solution that will provide strong access control, network
encryption, maximum availability and scalability for a truly secure VPN.
Active access
protection
CryptCard combines high-speed harddisk
encryption with strong password protection for secure authentication of
users. Prior to
booting the operating system, user rights are tested to obtain the key
to decipher the disk.
To use a notebook
protected by CryptCard, you just have to insert CryptCard
and enter a password. CryptCard then allows you to
access the data on the notebook.
Without CryptCard, all information on the
notebook is unreadable (encrypted), and the notebook is safely locked.
High security with
integrated key management
CryptCard provides cost-effective
protection against unauthorized access by utilizing the Data Encryption
Standard (DES) algorithm in CBC double key length mode (128 bits) or
military strength AES 256bit.
High performance
on-the-fly encryption / decryption
The use of a dedicated encryption
processor, SuperCrypt chip has reduced the strain on system performance
to a minimum. Instantaneous encryption / decryption operates in excess
of 20 Mbyte/s internally, resulting in no loss of Window's operating
performance. CryptCard stores the harddisk encryption key in encrypted
memory space, making it impossible to retrieve the harddisk encryption
key by force. |
Hierarchy-based access
protection
CryptCard can be
administered to allow multiple users to access a single laptop securely,
or multiple users to multiple laptops. This is enabled through a special
feature in CryptCard that allows individual (administrator assigned)
access rights to be stored in their respective CryptCards, executing
these rights whenever their CryptCards are inserted in an assigned
laptop.
Remote change of
password
Remote password change is protected
with a cryptographic 'challenge and response' procedure that helps
travelers who had forgotten their password to change to a new one in the
most secure manner available to date.
Floppy and CD
encryption
CryptCard allows different and flexible
user access rights - write, read and boot. All rights definitions are
stored in the CryptCard. Unencrypted and encrypted data media can be
intermixed, and the changing of encryption mode is possible during
runtime, allowing you to store encrypted or plain data on floppy. CDCrypt
encrypts CD-ROM before burning. Encrypted diskettes and CR-ROMs can be
accessed only on computers that have CryptCard or
Elkey
installed or possess the same diskette key. Encrypted drives represent
an additional virus protection. Several different keys can be used in
CryptCard for diskettes and CD-ROM. Such a solution is ideal for
enterprise-wide or company-wide data sharing with secure protection.
Additional
functionality
You may use SafeLAN to access a protected
directory on the fileserver. SafeLAN is an optional software that allows
CryptCard users to encrypt data on a fileserver. The data exchange with
communication partners can be encrypted with DataCrypt or RSACrypt.
System Requirements
Support Windows 95/98,
Windows NT, OS/2, Windows 2000/XP.
